As of December 15, 2017, the South Carolina Black Lawyers Association (“SCBLA”), with the assistance of the SC Bar Foundation (“SCBF”), set its goal to fund the Matthew J. Perry Scholarship (“MJPS”). The scholarship program was established in honor of the Honorable Matthew J. Perry, Federal District Judge, South Carolina and Civil Rights Legend.
All contributions are tax deductible as a result of our newly established relationship with the SCBF, a non-profit corporation with tax exempt status under 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.

Donors may contribute online after December 18, 2017 at www.SCBarFoundation.org under “Awards and Program” section – the Honorable Matthew J. Perry Scholarship.
The SCBLA has set its 2018 goal at $20,000. All members are challenged to make a contribution of $100 towards this scholarship program to help rising 2nd and 3rd year law school students with the costs of their legal education. Please consider helping SCBLA meet this 2018 goal!
